Grow croton plants from stem cuttings


Croton plant (codiaeum variegatum, garden croton or variegated croton) is a perennial tropical, evergreen, ornamental beautiful foliage decorative house plant in the family Euphorbiaceae. It is mainly native to Indonesia, Malaysia and Australia. Croton plant mainly propagate through stem cutting. It is a very easy process and you can do it any time of the year, but best growing season is spring, early autumn and monsoon.
Plant propagation steps :
First of all cut any healthy stem from the main plant. Now I'm make potting mix for croton plant. The ratio of the potting mix is 60% normal garden soil, 20% fine sand and 20% vermicompost or fully decompose cow dung. Mix it very well. Take a grow bag or any kind of pot and fill it with potting mix. Take this cutting and remove some excess leaves bottom of the stem cutting. Take this cutting and deep into the rooting powder. Make two holes into the potting mix with your finger or any gardening tools. Place this cutting into the hole and press it gently. Finally through watering and keep it partial shade place. After 45 days cuttings look like this. Roots are very well developed. Now we transplant into the individual pot. Take two pots with wall drainage system and fill it with potting mix. Take this croton plant and planted into the center of the pot. Finally through watering.
