Grow Coleus : How to Propagate Coleus Plant from Cutting with Update



Coleus plant is an evergreen perennial ornamental beautiful foliage decorative house plant, growing up to 3 feet tall. It's belongs to the family Lamiaceae and Native to the southeast Asia through to Australia. It's commonly known as Coleus and Plectranthus Scutellarioides. Coleus plant mainly propagate through seedling and stem cutting. In this video I am going to show you how to propagate Coleus plant from stem cutting.

Coleus Plant Propagation Steps :
First of all cut 3 to 5 inch stem. It is a very softwood plant. Now I'm make potting mix for coleus plant. The ratio of the potting mix is 60% normal garden soil, 20% vermicompost and 20% fine sand. Mix it well. Take a pot with well drainage system and fill it with potting mix. Take this coleus cutting and remove this excess leaves bottom of the stem cutting. Take this cutting and deep into the rooting powder. It is not mandatory to use rooting powder. It is very easy to grow plant and you can grow it without any kind of rooting powder. Make some holes into the potting mix with your finger or any gardening tool. Take this cutting and place into the hole and press it gently. Finally give some water and keep it partial shade place.
