Grow Coleus : How to Propagate Coleus Plant from Cutting with Update



Coleus plant is an evergreen perennial ornamental beautiful foliage decorative house plant, growing up to 3 feet tall. It's belongs to the family Lamiaceae and Native to the southeast Asia through to Australia. It's commonly known as Coleus and Plectranthus Scutellarioides. Coleus plant mainly propagate through seedling and stem cutting. In this video I am going to show you how to propagate Coleus plant from stem cutting.

Coleus Plant Propagation Steps :
First of all cut 3 to 5 inch stem. It is a very softwood plant. Now I'm make potting mix for coleus plant. The ratio of the potting mix is 60% normal garden soil, 20% vermicompost and 20% fine sand. Mix it well. Take a pot with well drainage system and fill it with potting mix. Take this coleus cutting and remove this excess leaves bottom of the stem cutting. Take this cutting and deep into the rooting powder. It is not mandatory to use rooting powder. It is very easy to grow plant and you can grow it without any kind of rooting powder. Make some holes into the potting mix with your finger or any gardening tool. Take this cutting and place into the hole and press it gently. Finally give some water and keep it partial shade place.

How to Propagate Euphorbia Trigona or African Milk Tree from Stem Cutting



Euphorbia trigona is a perennial ornamental house plant growing up to 3 meter tall. It's commonly known as African milk tree, Cathedral cactus, Abyssinian euphorbia, High chaparall and originates from Central Africa. It's belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family and it is a pest free low maintenance plant. Euphorbia trigona plant propagation can be done by stem cutting and you can do it any time of the year, but best growing season is spring.

Propagation steps:
First of all cut any healthy stem. When you cut the stem, white latex come out from here. The latex is a poisonous and it can causes skin irritations. Now I'm make potting mix for euphorbia trigona plant. The ratio of the potting mix is 60% normal garden soil, 20% vermicompost and 20% fine sand. Mix it well. Otherwise you can use cactus potting mix. Take a pot with well drainage system and fill it with potting mix. Before planting stem cutting allowed to dry 2 to 5 days for callus. Make a hole center of the potting mix with your finger and place this cutting into the hole and press it gently. Finally give some water and keep it partial shade place.
