Grow crown of thorns or euphorbia milii from cutting and care tips



Euphorbia milii is a perennial succulent flowering plant or shrub growing up to 1.8 meter tall. It's belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae and native to Madagascar. This plant also known as Crown of thorns, Christ plant or Christ thorn and Corona de Cristo.

Propagation : This plant propagation can be done by stem cutting and you can do it any time of the year, but best growing season is spring. First of all cut 6 to 8 inch stem. remove some excess leaves. Before planting stem cutting keep it shaded place 24 hr for callus. The ratio of the potting mix is 50% normal garden soil, 30% fine sand and 20% vermicompost. Mix it well. Otherwise you can use cactus potting mix. Take some growing bag or any kind of pot and fill it with potting mix. Make a hole center of the potting mix with your finger or any gardening tools. Place this cutting into the hole and press it gently. don't need any kind of rooting powder. it is a very easy to grow. Finally give some water and keep it partial shade place.

Care Tips :
1)Soil : It prefer well drained medium such as cactus potting mix.
2)Light : Euphorbia milii want bright light to full sun light 4 hr daly.
3)Watering : Allow soil to dry between thorough waterings.
4)Temperature : The interestings point of this plant, it is a very tolerant to the high temperature. Best grow average room temperature minimum 13 degree celsius.
